today we learnt about the first explorers to come to New Zealand.
the first person apart from Maori was Abel Tasman and he arrived in 1642 He called New Zealand Nova Zealandia. The next person to arrive to NZ was James Cook and he arrived in 1769. He also brought a navigator called Tupaia. The Europeans brought pigs rats and diseases and they also brought muskets witch is a old gun. Soon after that the musket wars started in 1830. The population after the wars was 40 Maori to 1 Pakeha.

my predictions before i watched the movie was: i thought there was going to be a storm
characters: mark watney he got stuck on mars he blew himself up he became a space pirate he grew potatoes he was trying to get to the areas four site to get back to space.
my favorite part of the movie is when he says he is a space pirate
